Our Dancing Princess

Phedora started her dancing princess class today. Last night we went and got her some ballet slippers and a little leotard to wear. She picked out some cute Ariel clips for her hair. We had a lot of fun this afternoon getting her ready for class. We curled her hair, put the clips in and little bit of pink eye shadow to finish off the look. I was surprised that she didn't put her lips on. She is always putting her lips on throughout the day. I guess in all the excitement she just forgot. Hayden and I had to leave and didn't get to stay and watch :( We get to stay for the last class though. So we are looking forward to that. We will have to make sure that Dan can be home for it. Here's a few pictures that I took before we left the house. She is just adorable!

After class she exclaimed that she had fun and wanted to come back again tomorrow. I should of known that she would love ballet class. I am so happy that it was everything that she was hoping for.

Presents, Presents, Presents!

The kids absolutely love getting mail, especially when its a package from Grandma and Grandpa. They love getting mail so much that my poor mom has to send a package for each of them. Hayden told her that he doesn't want to have to share with Phedora and if it has both of their names on it he will have to share. Well, the kids have patiently been waiting since Wednesday afternoon for this latest packages to arrive. Hayden has been asking grandma for a white and red firetruck that sprays water for at least 2 months. Grandma has been telling him that he needs to ask Santa for this firetruck. Over the course of the conversations we find out that Hayden doesn't want a toy firetruck but rather a real firetruck. He said he was willing to wait until he was all grown up to get a real one. I guess that means that beer maker is off the table and he is once again going to be a fireman. Yeah! I like that career path much better.

Well Hayden caught wind from grandma the other day that she was sending him a firetruck. I guess he wore her down with his constant asking almost every day for a firetruck. Today while the kids were napping, yes I said napping it does happen occasionally when mommy is really at her wits ends. Well while they were napping the mail man dropped off 2 boxes. One for Hayden and the other for Phedora. At first I just set them on the table so they would see them when they woke up. Then I got a little bored waiting for them to wake up and decided to hide them and make a game out of it. By the time they woke up it was already 5. So I made them eat a slice of pizza first. Yep pizza tonight. Poor Dan is still at work and its almost 8:30!

Phedora was the first one up so she ate her pizza and was off to try to find her package. She's not so good with the looking yet so I kind of pointed her in the right direction. Here's some cute pics that will explain much better than words can.

Where is it?
I cant find it!

There it is.

Yeah!

Ripping into it.
Grandma you tape these up too hard.

She is going at it.

She finally got all the paper off!

Hayden's New Do

So, I decided that it was time to clean Hayden up a little bit. He was getting a little shaggy around the edges :) I went this evening and picked up a haircutting kit and we set out to trim his hair up. It took a good 30 minutes or so but we managed and I think it turned out really good for my first time. Hopefully he will let me do it again. He said I was pulling his hair. Here's a few pics of the finished product. I think he looks even cuter. He said its too short and he cant run his fingers through the top like he likes to do. But it grows really fast so I think he will survive and we will know for next time.

Swimming Lessons

The kids started swimming lessons on Monday. I am loving watching Phedora's progress. On Monday she barely wanted to go in the water and now today she is jumping in and willingly putting her head under the water. Hayden loves the water and keeps talking about the diving board. He thinks he's ready to go off of it. But I am sure that he wants to have floaties on when he does it. They are learning to put their heads under water, open their eyes under water and float on their back and tummies. I am enjoying getting to sit pool side and get some sun. Though I am spent after about 10 minutes. I think I will try and get them into a earlier class for the next session. By 11 its already 100 degrees! One of these days I will have to remember to take my camera with me and get a couple shots of the kids.
