Monsters vs. Aliens
This afternoon the kids and I decided to take the afternoon off and go enjoy a movie. They have been talking nonstop lately about Monsters vs. Aliens and they have been very good what with all the packing and all so we went. It was a cute movie and the kids enjoyed it. Not sure it was worth $40 to see but since the kids love the theater so much it was $40 well spent.
There's a preview out for it where this man is running down the hall and is going through the secured door. To get in he scans his hand, eyes, elbows and then pulls down his pants and scans his behind. Phedora sees the man running down the hall and she yells to me "Mom! This is where he pulls down his pants and sits on the thing" I about died laughing. She is just obsessed it seems with all things potty related. At times I think she's a little boy trapped in a little girls body.
Both the kids got a little scared here and there. Nothing that I found to be scary but they scare easily so its to be expected. They are now excited for July 4th and the new Ice Age movie. I on the other hand am excited for October when Where the Wild Things Are comes out. I also am looking forward to Ice Age since I have loved the first two movies.

My Vacuum...
Well, yesterday my vacuum broke :( I vacuumed up the dining room and then hooked up the hose to do the edges and all of a sudden it started making this terrible loud sound. Like it was going to blow or something. I called up Halo and left them a message and they of course called back today while we were out. However, I did remember to mail in the registration for it when we bought it so they had my email address. They sent me an email saying that the fan on the motor was probably broken and that's not covered by the warranty :( However they are going to send me a new vacuum this once! I love my Halo and now they are nice enough to send me a new one. I am so excited you don't even know. I got upset when they said it wasn't covered. But they made it all better in the next line.

Coming Home
After meeting with three different moving companies all we have left to do is make a decision. The movers will be coming on the 6th to pick up our things. On the morning of the 7th the carpet cleaners are coming and then at 12:30 we are doing our final walk through here. Then its off to California and possibly Disneyland. As of right now it looks like our things will be up in Wa between the 9th and the 17th. As we get closer to moving date we will get a better time frame. We are hoping for between the 13th and 15th though. But will take whatever we get I guess.
I am off to do some more packing. Now that the moving companies are done going through here I feel like I can really get in there and get it done!

Phedora: Update
We went in this morning to see the cardiologist. It went really well and I found out later this afternoon that I should have used different terminology when I explained it all to Phedora. I told her what an EKG was and told her that they would hook her to the machine and it would read what her heart was doing. She literally thought I meant hook. We went out his afternoon and she said you know mom they didn't actually hook me to the machine. I said What? And she replies they didn't put me on a hook. Too cute. Anyway though, back to the good stuff. They did the EKG and the Dr came in and listened to her heart. He said that everything is fine and there is nothing to worry about. She actually has not one, not two but three different murmurs. She has one called Still's, which is the one the pedi thought she had. Then she has another one called a Venus hum. The third one I don't remember the name of it was really long and sounded pretty scary. But that one just means that she has a musical sounding heart.
All is well though and that is the best thing. Her blood pressure was a little high today at 122/85. She's never had high blood pressure before though and probably was just worried about the hook :)
He recommended that we take both of the kids in when they are about 10-12 years old to get their cholesterol checked since it runs in the family. Phedora refused me any pictures today. But she was as usual very cute even with all the wires attached to her.

Moving Companies...
Well today we had our first round of movers through. So far so good. The company that I want to move us is the same one that moved us here. He actually has estimated at a cost less than what they charged us to move here. I am hoping that they will be cheapest estimate as they were really good bringing us here. They even got our stuff here 2 days early! He said they could move us out on Monday the 6th and have our stuff up there between the 13th and the 15th. I have two more appointments tomorrow afternoon and then I can submit them to the company. I am hoping to have all the arrangements made by Thursday.
Update: Phedora's Heart
We took Phedora back to the pediatrician today to recheck her heart murmur. He wants us to go see a Pediatric Cardiologist. So we are going tomorrow bright and early. He wanted us to have it checked before we left the desert. While I am a little nervous I'm not at the same time. He thinks is a Still's heart murmur. Which is also known as an Innocent heart murmur, meaning that it will not affect her life in any way and she should grow out of it. But just to be on the safe side we are headed in tomorrow to do an EKG. We will see how that goes. She was very restless today while we were there. Our appointment is at 7:30 and should take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. I will post an update when we get home.

Phedora...
Is ready to go home. For the last couple of weeks the kids will get up in the morning and pack their bags to go home. Usually they have an afternoon flight to catch. Well.... tomorrow we are going to go to the zoo, so I decided to use Phedora's backpack for our lunch since its out here and I can find it. First I open up the 2 side pockets and find a pair of underwear in each pocket. Then I open the main area to find a pair of slippers, a slinky and a pull up. I pull them out and keep unpacking. She has 3 pairs of jeans, a nightgown and a sundress. I'm curious what she was planning on using for a shirt or if she was planning on wearing the sundress with the jeans. That is something she does regularly so that wouldn't surprise me. On the bottom of the bag she has necklaces, bracelets, hair clips and two pens along with a piece of paper. Too cute! I guess I should have unpacked her bag sooner. She's been telling me that she doesn't have any pants lately. Lucky for her I found them! Here's a pic of the contents for you.
We found our new house
Dan went out today and looked at houses. I believe he looked at 5 different places and we have decided on a 4 bedroom 3 bath 1900 sqft house in Silverlake. For those of you that don't know where Silverlake is its just So Everett. It is a 2 story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths upstairs. Dan said that the bedrooms were all really good sized. Downstairs is the kitchen, dining room, living room, 4th bedroom and a 3rd bathroom. The kitchen and dining room is hardwoods and the rest of the house is carpet. I am so happy that there is no carpet in the dining room! Hayden and Phedora both have a really hard time getting the food from their plates to their mouths. Most of it hits the floor. We are planning on using the 4th bedroom as an office/workout room/guest room. I talked to one of the owners this afternoon and she seems really nice. She is really excited that a young family is moving in and even said we could get a puppy! The other rentals said "No Puppies" So once we get home we will be able to start looking for the newest addition to our family.
The only thing that Dan said was wrong with the house is that is has a small backyard. But there are always parks and our kids aren't much into playing in the yard anyway. I guess just around the corner there is a little playground. Down the road there is also a little pond that the geese bring their babies to.
Another added benefit of this house is that its only about a 10 minute drive to Phedora's preschool and the elementary school is just a 5 minute drive. Hayden cant wait to ride the school bus. Luckily for him its about a 30 minute walk so he should be able to ride the bus. I have a few pictures of the inside but the quality isn't that great. For some reason I was unable to save the pictures that they sent us to our computer. So I had to print them and then scan them back on. But even though the pics aren't that great you can see what I am seeing.
Oh yeah, we have picked out the breed that we want to get. Now we just have to find a breeder as they are not easily found. I found two breeders in Oregon and a possible breeder in Olympia. Yes, Oregon is a bit of a drive but its one that I am more than willing to make. We have decided on a Schipperke. They have the temperament of a lab but are only 12-15 pounds. I will find a couple pics real quick so you can see. They are so cute and look just like a little bear cub.
Anyway, enjoy the pics for now and I cant wait to be home and settled!
I'm not a huge fan of tile counter tops. But now I have a reason to buy a slab of granite. You cant roll any doughs out on tile :)
Hayden tying his shoes
Hayden has been learning how to tie his own shoes. While it takes a little bit of extra patience and planning he is doing really good at it.
Phedora's Idea of a good time.
The other afternoon this is what I found Phedora doing in the back yard. Of course Hayden wanted a turn at it as well.
Built up Aggression
Hayden has become very much into fighting. I hope that it is just a little phase that will pass but you never know. I decided that I was tired of him beating us all up so I got him a pillow. Both him and Phedora enjoyed beating up the pillow. We may need to get a punching bag for them.
Ostrich Festival Parade
While Tom, Peg and Dan were visiting with Adam we walked up the road to enjoy a parade. The weather was perfect though it would have been better had we been on the other side of the road. We were facing the sun. It was a short parade done in 50 minutes. But I guess since we were at the very beginning of it that made a difference.

Let the fun begin!
We almost have moving dates! We are coming home! Though we will miss Arizona and all our great friends here, we will be happy to be back closer to our families and friends up there. We are hoping to have the movers here on April 8th or 9th and be back in Wa by the 14th or 15th!
So much to do and so little time though that always seems to be the case. It makes it stressful but I honestly don't think I would want it any different.
Dan is flying up to Wa on Monday to find us a new place to call home. Hopefully somewhere to call home for a few years. I am definitely ready to "settle down" All this moving, making friends and then moving again is starting to get to me. The kids are excited to go but the reality of moving never hits them until after the fact. They like to think that their friends will move with us. I wish that was how it worked :)
I will post more as I know more but the tentative moving date for now will probably be April 9th. Sounds good to us at least.
See you all sooner rather than later!

This morning...
Phedora was being very quite this morning before we had to take Hayden to school. So I call for her and she sheepishly comes walking up to me rubbing under her eyes. Hmm... I ask her what she has been up to and she wont say and she wont look at me. She was hiding out in our bathroom blindly applying mascara! I was actually quite impressed with it cause she did really good and wasn't looking in a mirror and didn't stab herself in the eye. I guess she is a natural. Regardless though she did get a stern talking to. She is allowed to wear her eye shadows, which are sheer pinks and light blues and lip gloss but not mascara! I tried to get a pic but she wasn't being very cooperative about it. This was the best one I got.

And it begins...

I think the clock stays. There is a lady living there now and the clock is still hanging up there.

Someday soon we will have one named Isis.
