As summer winds down...

We find that there is not much more than relaxing and shopping going on.  We have almost finished our back to school shopping.  That was a chore with both the kids but also fun.  I loved seeing the outfits and shirts that both the kids picked out.  They couldn't be any more different in this department.  Hayden would pick out things for Phedora who in turn would not like them and visa versa.  It was cute.
The kids are planning a sleep over for tomorrow night.  Ayla is going to come over and they are going to have popcorn, root beer, candy and watch Nanny McPhee.  Hayden and Phedora have yet to see it so I hope they like it.  Ayla on the other hand has seen it and loves it.
Today we are taking it easy, we may go do a little grocery shopping and then come home and make some peach-blueberry pie.  I am contemplating if I want to make one big pie or three individual pies.  I am leaning toward the individual pies.  We have these cute little ramekins that Dan uses for creme brule that we could use.  Making the smaller ones we wont end up eating as much and throwing away as much either.  I love to make different desserts and such but we always end up throwing away most of it.

Summer 2010: Part 6... The Final Installment...

This is it, after this post is published the blog is officially up to date.  I can honestly say that I did not think this day or night would ever come.  So far this has been one of the best summers and its not even over yet!  I am looking forward to the rest of our summer before school starts on September 8th.

Willis Tucker Park.
On Monday we headed over to Willis Tucker Park with a few friends.  Willis Tucker has a little of everything and is an all around great park.  The kids had a great time at the spray pad, on the playground and also in the sandbox.
Playing tag with Niko.
Lunch with Kaeli.
Hayden, Niko and Arman
Hayden and Arman
Climbing.
At one point he was standing at the top with his arms up reaching for the sky.
I about died for fear he would fall as the whole thing shakes while others are climbing up.
Phedora wants to climb up too.
This is as far as she made it.
Climbing down after being yelled at for not holding on while at the top.
Time to play in the sand.
Cheese.
How many kids can you fit on a merry-go-round?
Fun in the Sun.
Taking a time out for a popsicles.
Poor Aaron spent a good 30 minutes filling up water balloons.
The fun only lasted for a 1 minute and 21 seconds.
All of which were caught on video.

Sharing a milk shake at Jack in the Box on Tuesday.
It was HOT!

Making Brownies.
Hayden wanted to make a cake but we decided to make brownies instead.
He did everything all by himself.  I didn't get a picture of him cracking the egg but he did.
Pouring in the water.
and the oil.
Stir it up.
Then add the triple chocolate brownie mix.
Stir it up.
Phedora wanted to help to once she realized what he was doing.
Stir a little more.
Pour it in the pan.
Ooo yummy.
Put it in the oven.
The batteries died on the camera before the brownies were done.
But they were yummy!
Phedora being her silly self.

More 4th of July/Kla Ha Ya Days

These are a few shots that our friend Angie took of the family.  Enjoy and Thank You Angie, they turned out great.
Fourth of July.

Seriously... tongue out?
OK, go ahead and lick me too.
Can't we just have a nice picture of the two of us?

Kla Ha Ya Days.
Did we mention before how much fun the bumper cars were?
I believe we did.
The strawberries are fun too.
Ahhh...
They both loved this huge slide.
Phedora loved this ride.
Phedora and Niko,
Went around and around all day.
Love this picture!
Thank You Angie.
More fun with bumper cars.
Hayden and Daddy taking a ride on the ferris wheel.
This was after Phedora and I went on this ride that you stand against the wall and it spins really fast and goes up and down.  I almost threw up on that one.
When I asked her why she was sitting in a bench instead of on a horse she said... "because I will throw up if I ride a horse"
This ride was horrible.
But Phedora loved it and kept reassuring me that I would be OK and I wouldn't throw up.
