OH NO!

OK, so I never did actually take Thomas out to see if he would fit into the car. Well... he does not fit in the car. Dan is on his way home to take Thomas to the carnival. I guess Hayden can just wear it for a little while then take it off so Dan can get back to work. UGH! I should have tried it before I made it just to make sure. Oh well we will know next time I make something to double check the size. I have a pretty big trunk though so I thought it would fit just fine.

Thomas has arrived!

OK, let me start by saying this was by far the hardest project I have ever done. I try very hard to be creative and I think I hit it out of the ball park this time around. However, that said, as proud of it as I am and as much as Hayden loves his Thomas costume, I think from now on we will buy our costumes :) The following pics are from over the course of the last few days. We fitted it onto Hayden at about 8:30 giving us roughly 12 hours to spare! Our Halloween carnival is at 9 am tomorrow. I should be in bed but I wanted to get the blog updated for the weekend. As I have been working on this project pretty much non-stop in my free time the house has taken a bit of a back seat. I was able to get some cleaning done today and throughout the week. But you know when I am uncomfortable at home it really is a mess. That's pretty much where we are right now. I will be spending most of tomorrow afternoon cleaning up around here. Does it make me ill that I am looking forward to it??? Anyway, here are the pics of the Thomas costume. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I will be happy to never see a cardboard box and a box cutter next to each again, unless I am using it to open a box!

My hands hurt pretty good from all the cutting I had to do

Starting the assembly

More assembly

Yes, the face is a little crooked.
But he loves it and that's all that matters.
At least that's what I tell myself because it kind of bothers me.
Side view. No I did not forget to put the wheels on.
Hayden told me I didn't have to put them on.
I couldn't figure out how to attach them.
Phedora loves it too and cant wait to take a ride in it after Halloween.
I set it up so that Hayden can put his candy in the back box.
I don't think he can reach back there though. I guess that will be our job.

Halloween Party

This afternoon was our playgroups Halloween party. So Phedora was very excited to get to wear her costume. While we were at the preschool dropping Hayden off we invited her best friend Kelsey to come along with us. She was more than happy to not have to go run errands and the girls had a great time chatting up a storm on the way there and playing it up at the party. They both had to sit down for a snack as well. It was quite healthy and included a lot of cheese cubes, a cupcake and of course a glass of Sierra Mist. Sounds like a great party to me. Unfortunately my camera was not being cooperative this afternoon so I only got one picture from the party. I will hopefully get some cute shots of the girls tomorrow at the preschool carnival. If all else fails Phedora is having her first sleep over on Saturday. My kids are growing up so fast. Kelsy is going to come over here for a sleep over. Lucky for Hayden he is friends with Kelsey's big brother Bennett and will be going over to his house for a sleep over. Phedora and Kelsey are in the same class at preschool and Hayden and Bennett are in the same class. Its been really nice that they too are so close in age and they all get along really good.

Cheese!

I am so tough
Our "big" boy. He really is though.
Already 50 pounds can you believe it?

Playing in the play house. They love going over to Dillan and Alex's They have such cool toys.

Carving Pumpkins...Take Two

OK, first of all... Note to self... Do not hollow out pumpkins and then put the lid on and not carve them. Yes, we have already carved pumpkins for Halloween. And yes, we did do what is previously stayed. On Tuesday morning Hayden got up to find his pumpkin "falling down" as he put it. Open up both pumpkins to find.. yes, mold and a lot of it. So we went out after school and bought new pumpkins. We carved them up last night and let the kids do the cutting to carve them. All in all they turned out pretty good. Of course there was a little help from mommy and daddy.

Sunday's are football and Daddy day in our house. This past Sunday was an exceptional day at the Posey house. Not only was Daddy home after having to work 6 LONG days but the Seahawks also finally won! YEAH GO HAWKS!!! Phedora and Daddy were goofing off and I just had to get a couple of picks. Cause well she's just so gosh darned cute.

Hayden's City

The other day I asked Hayden to build me a city out of Lego's. He told me that he couldn't because he didn't know what to build. So I asked him what you would find in a city. After a quick discussion he set to work on his city. Which consisted of a dock, hotel, house, school, fire station and a Fred Meyers (I think that was his way of saying he wants to go back to WA!) Here are some pics of the city. We had a great time playing and it was eventually destroyed by the pirates!

The end is in sight

I have been working the last few days on getting Hayden's train costume put together. I can happily say that it is coming together and I can actually see the end in sight. When I first decided to make his costume I thought, it cant be that hard, it looks pretty easy. Wow, was I ever wrong. It is definitely getting the better of me. Trying to figure out how to make certain things happen is beyond me at times but so far I am getting there. I have a few more pieces to make and then its just a matter of painting the remaining pieces and attaching them to the train. I am determined to have it finished by tomorrow night. Not like I have a choice in the matter since we have to use it Friday morning! I think the last major obstacle I have to overcome is how to actually attach it to Hayden. I think I will get a pair of suspenders and attach them to the train some how. If you have any ideas please please please pass them on! I will post some pics of what I have in a little bit. As its almost time for preschool now.

A work in progress

So I decided that since Halloween is already next Friday, I should get started on Hayden's costume. As most all of you know he loves Thomas the Train. So what better costume than to dress him up as Thomas, literally. We have been making good progress and I think that we will be ready to go by Friday. Wish my luck!

Pumpkins

Earlier this week the kids and I went and picked up a couple of pumpkins. We decided to get started on them last night and get them gutted out. The kids were less than happy to be having to stick their hands into that yucky pumpkin. But they eventually dug in and started pulling out the stuff. We got quite a few cute pictures so lets just get right to those. You all can create the story.
