October 2009

Way back the week off Oct 5-9th Hayden got his first Excellent progress report from school. He has gotten excellent's every week since then.
Dan and I went last week and had our first parent teacher conference with Hayden's teacher. She said that he is very smart and excelling at everything. Hayden is already able to do a lot of things that they don't expect them to do until the end of Kindergarten. We are so proud of Hayden!
Last Tuesday, Phedora and I went to Craven farm with her preschool.

She was in a mood and wouldn't let me take any pics of her

Isis' Halloween costume
As you can see she hates it!
Phedora lost her first tooth on Saturday!
Her new tooth has already broken through
She is about to lose the one next to this one too!
Whats crazy is that Hayden and Phedora have lost the same tooth now and they are the exact same size!

Darth Vader and Princess Leia
The kids had fun trying on their Halloween costumes.

Its time to carve some pumpkins
So excited!
They are going to race to see who finishes first and Mommy isn't going to have to do it this year they are cleaning them out themselves!
The first pull
If I use two hands it will get done faster

Um Ya not so much...
And then mommy ended up cleaning both pumpkins...
Hayden drew out his face with a crayon and I carved it out for him.
Phedora wanted a Kitty so Dan had to shrink the pattern to fit her little pumpkin.

Just a few pics

Isis has control of the situation this morning.
Isis just would not leave poor Phedora alone this morning. But I think Phedora was enjoyingthe extra attention from her puppy.

This afternoon she got her little paws on a chocolate tootsie pop. I tried to get video but the camera battery was too dead. She was laying there licking it.

Really I get to ride the bus?
Are you sure?
Going to the bus... Not quite time yet.
Excited for the bus and his first day of Kindergarten

So far Mommy is keeping it together quite nicely!

I'm getting tired of pictures.
I warned him!
Waiting for the bus... We had no idea what time it was coming so we went early.

Its kinda blurry but I liked it...

Here comes the bus...
And the tears...
He couldn't wait to get on the bus.
He didn't even say goodbye or give us a hug :(
Bye Hayden...
I was fighting back the tears as they drove away.
We decided to go to the school and meet the bus.
I really didn't want to miss a thing.
Getting off the bus at school.
Where do I go? Where is my teacher?

Teacher Meetings

Last Thursday we went to Cookies at the Creek, also known as open house at Hayden's school. We got to meet his teacher and see his classroom and then have cookies. Hayden's teacher this year is Mrs. Russell. She seems really nice and Hayden really liked her. It was funny because over dinner the night before I asked Hayden what he thought his teacher would look like just based on her name. Which at the time we thought was Ms. Cross (She just got married and is now going by that name a little confusing but we will survive it). Hayden said he thought she would have curly black hair and blue eyes. He couldn't have been more wrong, Mrs Russell has long light brown hair. Hayden is looking forward to his first day of kindergarten tomorrow! I will be posting lots of pictures and maybe some video tomorrow night so stay tuned :)

Today we went and met Phedora's preschool teacher. Her name is Mrs. Thatch and she also seems very nice. Phedora really liked her and that is all that really matters. Phedora has not been looking forward to school starting again. It will be a big change for her with Hayden not being there with her anymore. She is going to be going Mon-Thurs afternoons this year. Today we went and got a book bag for her and an iron on picture of what else than a castle. She also picked out cowgirl boots and horse shoes. All in all I think it turned out pretty cute. Phedora will be starting preschool on Monday so I will post pictures from her first day then.
