First Chapter Book

Hayden finished reading his first chapter book.
He is such a good reader we couldn't be more proud of him.
He has decided to read all the Magic Tree House books.

Hayden AKA Fighter Pilot.

Hayden had his first fillings down in mid January.
He was a little more than a little nervous about it.
So they gave him some nitrous oxide to help him calm down.
He didn't like the mask so we told him he looked like a fighter pilot and then all was well.

Within a few minutes he was loving the pictures above him.

In the end he did awesome.  He had to have 2 fillings and was a real trooper.

First Snow of 2011.

The kids waited and waited and the snow didn't come.
And then it just dumped on us starting at about 8:45 or so.
This is maybe 5 minutes after it started.

This was after about 30 minutes.
There was a lot of snow.
School was cancelled even though it was raining the next morning.  But the snow stuck around for most of the next day.  Too wet to play in though since it rained all day.
This was the last of the snow we have seen this year :(

Tea Time!

Phedora LOVES to have Tea Parties.
Its really all she talks about anymore.
So I decided to take her to a real tea party before school one morning.
We headed up to Marysville and had tea at Attic Secrets Tea Room.
We had a fabulous morning of tea.
She decided that she wanted to have her birthday party there this year.
So her and her girlfriends will be dining on tea and sandwiches soon!
The room was decorated for Christmas.
Everything was so pretty.

Checking everything out, asking lots of questions.

Playing with the sugar tongs.
She loved the sugar cubes.

She is drinking...
I Dream of Chocolate Tea.
She loved it so much we bought a bag to bring home.
She doesn't get to drink it as often as she would like to.

Our table setting.

Lunch is here!
Its super cute!

She loved the heart shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

This was mine.
I had no idea there was going to be so much.
It was all SOOO good though.

This was the absolute best scone I have EVER had.
I was expecting this dried out triangle of dough with some lemon curd.
I was happily surprised when this delicious, light and flaky pastry arrived with the most delicious lemon curd I have ever had came out... mmm I want to go for tea now :)

Having her lunch.

Fixing her tea just how she likes it.
1 lump and a splash of cream.
She carried her orange with the umbrella around for the next two days.

Learning to Shoot

Grandma and Grandpa got Hayden a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas!!!
He couldn't wait to get out and shoot it.
Daddy showing him how its done.

I'm going to shoot it!

Loading the BB.

Happy New Years!

On New Years Eve we headed over to see the family and celebrate Christmas.  We all had a great time visiting and catching up.  The kids had tons of fun playing together while the adults played Apples to Apples.  That is a super fun game so if you haven't played it, you should.
On the ferry eating her fruit and cheese plate.

This is my clam chowder, get yer own.

Mmm got my own clam chowder and its good.

So pretty.

Apple Mouth

Cael has gotten so big!

Dan and John enjoying a New Years Brew or two.

Phedora I hope thats not nail polish... yikes.
I think its lip gloss.  She was in heaven with all the make up she got for Christmas.

Dawson and Hayden playing Legos.

He is just so darn cute!

Hayden got Dawson Legos for Christmas.
They had a great time building.

Getting ready to light sparklers off to celebrate the NEW YEAR.

Snow!!!

Before we left California the weather up here started to predict snow.  The kids and I were all hopeful that the snow would wait until we were safely back at home.  We flew in on Tuesday late afternoon and this is what we woke up to Wednesday morning!

Playing outside waiting for all the rest of the kids to come out.

Trying to sled down our street.  Not quite enough of a slope though.

So we took them down the road that had more of a slope.

All  the kids lined up and ready to go.
After this a huge snowball fight broke out.
All I'll say is that it was a lot of fun.
