Phedora's 4 year check up

We took Phedora in today for her well child visit. She has been dreading this appointment now for months. She opted to wait until after her birthday to go in. This afternoon when we left the Dr's. she told me that she would rather of gone tomorrow. All in all a pretty good appointment. I have to take her back in a month or two so he can listen to her heart again. She has a little murmur but he said nothing that he feels he needs to send her to a specialist for. He said it would probably clear up and to just bring her in to be sure. So we will be going back to see him before we move home. She's moved out of the 20th percentile and up into the 40th. We is 39 3/4 inches and 36.9 pounds. The poor thing had to get 5 shots today, but she is good until I think he said 11. She didn't even flinch for the first three shots but then she changed arms and after the fourth she started crying. She had big huge tears streaming down her face. But she got two stickers and lollipop, a bag of Cheetos and a movie. I think she made out pretty good in the end. She hasn't been complaining about her arms hurting at all and has been in good spirits.

She got the first 3 shots in this arm.

And the last 2 in this one.

Phedora's Birthday Party

On Saturday, we had Phedora's birthday party. She had a lot of fun playing with Kelsey, Angela, Bennett and Hayden. In the end it was like a big play date with cake, ice cream and presents.

She definitely dressed herself :)

Angela, Phedora and Kelsey eating grapes.

Happy Birthday!
Not so sure about everyone singing to her.
She gets quite shy when she is the center of attention.
Mmm, cake, ice cream and soda pop.
Its time to open these presents.
Pulling up a chair to watch her new movie Barbie Swan Lake.

Veteran's Oasis Park

On Friday, we went to Veteran's Oasis Park for a field trip about recycling. While I thought it started at 9 it actually started at 10. So we spent the hour hiking around the lake. We even ventured out into the "Wild West" as Phedora called the hill we climbed up. It was a beautiful morning and we had a great time skipping rocks into the lake.

We hiked up the hill in the background to the "Wild West".

They were trying to trick the birds into eating the rocks.
They had a few takers try it out.

Phedora's 4!

On Thursday our little Lightening McQueen Princess turned 4 :( Our babies are growing up so fast, I can hardly believe it. She woke up at about 7:15 and was ready to start opening presents. Since we didn't have to wait around for a party or other people we figured why not? Hence the bed head hair she has. She had fun opening all her presents and could wait to play with them all.

Blueberry Muffins, Mmm.
Princess knee pads.
And a princess helmet from Nana and Grampee.
New clothes.
Happy Sister Birthday Hayden.
This is the loudest most annoying horn ever. It sounds like a ferry boat horn.
Thanks mom! Definitely an outside toy only.
An Easy Bake oven from Grandma and Grandpa!
A jump rope from Hayden.
(She tried to jump rope with anything she can get her hands on so I saw this and got it for her. She kept telling Hayden that she didn't want it. So finally I said OK its not from Hayden its from mommy.) Hayden also got here a Dora Candy Land game. But I guess we didn't get a picture.
Cool a scooter like Hayden's from Nana and Grampee.
She was very specific that she wanted a two wheel scooter because the three wheeled ones don't go fast enough for here. They have been having a great time riding around the backyard. Its so nice now that they don't fight over the scooter any more.
Happy Sister Birthday to Hayden again. A Geo Tracks set.
Dan and I got her a Princess Playroom set. It has a toy box, two smaller toy bins, a table and chairs, 3 shelves, a coat rack and a few other things. We are going to wait to put up the selves and other hanging things until we get back to Wa. I cant wait to decorate her princess room though when we get home. Maybe we will even paint her room pink.
After presents and playing for a while Dan and Phedora went out for some Daddy daughter shopping to get stuff for dinner. Afterwards we headed over to Tumbleweed Park for some scootering. Is that even a word..LOL We had a great time at the park as usual.

Hayden doing a little off roading with his scooter.
She's pretty good at it however she likes to just up and hop off of it to stop.
Look at that form around the corner.
Such concentration.
Yay!
Daddy's turn to take it out.
Hayden trying to catch Daddy.
Mommy's turn to join in the fun.

After the park we headed over to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner. Phedora wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese but the ones down here are run down and dirty. PPP is basically the same but nicer. The kids had fun playing as did Dan and I. Each taking a couple of turns playing deal or no deal.

Phedora used her half of the tickets to buy a nerds rope while Hayden used his for 2 little transforming airplanes. They were both happy about their choices.
Afterwards we headed home gave the kids a bath and sang Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday to you!
Of course I want a cupcake, Daddy.
Me Too!
I just thought this one was funny.

Hello Big Boy Bed

Well Hayden has officially outgrow his Thomas the Train bed. It is sad on all accounts. My little boy is growing up so fast and we have all loved Thomas. Last weekend we ordered his new bed, which came while Dan was in Colorado. So yesterday they put together his new bed. Hayden and I went out yesterday afternoon and got new bedding and today we got his new mattress. He picked out Nascar bedding. But even though I told him it was Nascar he thought it was Hot wheels. He was slightly disappointed when he realized it himself. But then he was happy because he actually has a Nascar race track and one of the cars he has for it is on his new bedding.

Trying to fit into one of the storage compartments on the side of his new frame.
Phedora fits in there nicely.

There he got all the way in. It was a tight squeeze though.

Phedora is just as excited about his new bed as he is. Now she wants a new bed too.

Hayden and Phedora all excited. And of course the new bed.

Goodbye Thomas

Sorry the video isn't very good. You can hardly hear Hayden but is bodily expressions tell the story of how he feels.

Today we said Goodbye to Hayden's Thomas bed. He went to the home of a little 2 1/2 year old that seems to love Thomas as much as Hayden does. He will definitely be missed around here though. Hayden was very sad to say goodbye.

Thomas' new little boy was beside himself and couldn't wait to take Thomas home with him. He even had a picture of the bed with him. Just like Hayden had before he got Thomas

Happy Birthday Dan

On Friday, Dan turned the big 27. The other day Hayden told me that he didn't want Daddy to have another birthday because he was turning into an "old man" The things 5 year olds say. He was very concerned about this. Anyway poor Dan had to spend his birthday in the truck driving home from Colorado. But he was happy to be home. The kids and I made him cupcakes and a birthday dinner. I should have chosen something easy like steak for dinner but I decided on chicken and I am not good with chicken at all. I made it in the rotisserie and it was still raw in the middle when we took it out. But a few minutes in the oven and we were good to go :)

He actually turned 4 today :)
Waiting while we sang Happy Birthday

Making a wish. Which Hayden wanted to know what he wished for he couldn't understand the whole if I tell you it wont come true. But in the end he let it go and we will never know what he wished for this year.
