Hayden's Big Dinner

On Tuesday night at dinner Hayden told us he would like to make dinner. So we asked him what he would like to make for dinner. He told us pancakes, eggs, waffles, chicken nuggets and chicken. He is pretty ambitious. In the end we decided on pancakes with eggs and bacon. Last night Hayden made us apple pancakes, and they were really good. He made the batter, poured it into the pan and even flipped them! I was so impressed with his flipping skills. He was really good at it. Then he helped me put the first batch of bacon in the pan and beat the eggs. I went ahead and cooked them while he finished up the pancakes. Dinner was really good and we might have to make Hayden the official pancake maker from now on!

Dan and Phedora made us a wonderful dessert. We had some left over raspberry pudding cake that they sliced up and made french toast out of. Phedora and I then made some yummy whip cream to top it all off.

Then the storms rolled back in and the kids didn't want to go to sleep. They are both deathly afraid of the thunder and lightening. We ended up tacking a curtain up over Hayden's window to block out the lightening. We thought all was well but then the thunder decided to show up and that scared Hayden and woke up Phedora. So they both ended up together in Hayden's bed. That lasted a about 10 minutes and Phedora headed back to her bed. They finally both went to sleep but I have to say I now have a love hate relationship with the storms. I love to watch them but I really wish they would wait until the kids were sound asleep before starting up.

I bet you are all wondering where the pics are???? I hate to say that I don't have any :( The batteries in the camera are dead and we are out. We are going to go pick up some more today though! Yeah!

I demand PICTURES woman!!!

I still think listening to thunder and watching the lightening is worth it!

Sounds like Hayden did a great job cooking! That is one less dinner you and Dan have to do by yourself nice! He's going to be a chef like his dad!
