Boy Scouts Crossover

Even though Hayden transferred to a new Boy Scout Pack closer to our new home we still wanted him to crossover to the next level with his old pack.  The crossover ceremony was held at McCollum park in Everett.  The kids all crossed over a bridge to receive their new neckerchief and book.  Afterwards the kids had s'mores.  The kids were also able to send their bottle rockets they made up into the air.  But more on that later.
There was a mix up on what time we were supposed to arrive.  We thought it was 6 but it turned out to be 6:30.  A few other parents thought it was 6 as well so the kids were able to play.

He didn't really want to share.

Like Son...
They both had marshmallow around their mouths.

Phedora enjoying her s'more.
She was more than happy to share a bite with Mommy
Dan filling Hayden's rocket with water.
Basically they filled the bottle about 1/2 full of water,
then attached it to and arm pump and pumped it full of air.

Coming into the gym with his class.
Just recieved his award.
Checking it out.
Sorry the pictures aren't very good.
Showing off his award for
Reading Fluently with Expression.
Hayden is a great reader and is already reading at a 3rd grade level!!  So proud of him!

Memorial Day Weekend

While looking through Disney's Family Fun magazine I came across a Kid Wash.  Its basically a huge sprinkler made out of PVC pipe.  It looked really fun.  So instead of our original plan to start tearing down the shed, Dan and Hayden headed to Home Depot to get the supplies needed to make it.
Learning how to use a hacksaw.
He wasn't a big fan of it, it hurt his hand.
So Daddy took over.
And Hayden held the pipe in place.
Time for Hayden to cut some.

The finished product.
We had our friend Leslie and her kids and nephew over to play in the new sprinkler. The kids all had a great time playing in it.
The kids running through it for the first time.
In order of appearance: Hayden, Kyler, Miles and Cash.
Phedora's turn to run through.
The Kid Wash used a lot of water, which lead to a lot of mud.  Phedora decided she needed a mud bath.
A close up shot.  While they all played in the mud she was by far the dirtiest!
Time to get washed off and cleaned up.

Scenic Beach

Memorial Day Weekend we headed over to Scenic Beach in Seabeck with Nana and Granpie.

Playing on the beach looking for seashells.
What a beautiful day in the PNW, perfect day for the beach.

Fun in the Sun!!

We got some nice weather for a few days in May, Phedora took advantage and put on her swimsuit along with a few accessories.  She is so stinkin cute!
The sun stuck around for a few days.
Isis was trying to keep cool in the shade of the cherry tree.
Millie enjoying the sun.
Playtime
Its really an eye sore!
The old owners used this corner as a catch all for tree trimmings, weeds, garbage, rocks etc.
I put a good dent in it that first day.
I filled the yard waste bin, as full as it would go and I put it all in so that I would maximize the space.  It was a lot of work but well worth it.  I don't have a picture of the finished product but I finished off that pile plus some.  There is still rocks and some old boards over there.  But those will have to wait until we get a truck to take it all to the dump.
Making dinner
Our first bike ride down Centennial Trail.
There is a great paved trail that runs from Snohomish up to Arlington I believe.  Its great for biking, walking, jogging and horses.  We didn't see any horses but we saw lots of people walking their dogs and riding bikes on this beautiful sunny afternoon in May.
Stopping for photos next to a river that runs along the trail.
We rode up to the Machias Station and there was a little playground for the kids to play on.
Our ride ended up being about 8 miles round trip.  It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time.
