Hayden's attempt at a head stand

Hayden decided that he wanted to do a head stand. But he had himself convinced that he couldn't do it. After a little begging he finally got me to show him how it was done. Needless to say it is much more painful than I remember it to be! But I managed to do it and he was actually watching! Yeah! Of course he wanted me to do it again, and I refused.

Finally unable to stand it anymore I stepped in to help him up.

Of course Phedora wanted to give it a try as well. I helped her get up on the wall but she was unable to hold herself up. So being the good big brother that he is... Hayden stepped in to offer assistance.

Flying kites

After school on Wednesday it was a little windy out so we decided to walk up to the neighborhood park and try our luck at flying the kids' kites. Santa brought them both little kites for Christmas last year and we have yet to try them out. Well we managed to get the kites put together and up into the air. I have no pics though because the field was all wet and I didn't want the kids to accidentally drop the camera. Anyway, we would get them up and then the wind would just stop. Very frustrating for all of us. Phedora decided that she was done with us and the kites and took off across the field to play in the sprinkler. We will have to try the whole kite thing another day. But all in all a fun trip to the park. The kids had a blast playing in the sprinklers.

I am muscle man!

As usual there is a few more of Phedora than of Hayden. I try to get pics of him but he has to want to do pictures. If he doesn't want to then I get nothing from him. Of course when he's ready though he's ready.

An Afternoon on the Farm

Saturday afternoon we headed out to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately I couldn't remember the name of the farm we were going to go to. But we found Mother's Nature Farm and the kids had a great time. They decorated pumpkins, played in the bouncy house and we took a hay ride around the farm. Hayden took a stroll through the hay bale maze and Dan said that he got pretty frustrated that he couldn't find his way out.
Like Father, Like Son
Look what I can do

We tried to do a family pic but Hayden wouldn't look through.

Aww she's so sweet!

This is what Hayden said when the mailman came bearing presents from Great Grandma Bev. Last week the kids got another package in the mail. I think they actually get more mail than Dan and I get! Grandma Bev sent both the kids a package for halloween and boy were they excited about it.

Yeah! Packages!

The Zoo

Last Saturday, we took the kids to the zoo. They were really excited about going and had a pretty good time. We were happy that we went early. By the time we left the winds had picked up pretty good. The kids had a ton of fun playing at the tree house playground.

Dessert Breeze with our playgroup

Last week we went back to Desert Breeze park with our playgroup. The kids had a great time playing with their friends. We took a train ride, played on the playground and fed the ducks. I didn't take their swim suits with us because I wasn't planning on doing the spray pad. But they wanted to go so they went in their clothes and then we headed home. It was all fun until they didn't have a towel. Luckily we were able to borrow a towel and get them at least a little dried off. The car was nice and tasty warm though so they didn't have to freeze.
