Woodland Park Zoo

This afternoon the kids and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo with our friends Casey and Howie. We had a great time seeing all the animals and the penguins! Though I wasn't as impressed with the penguin exhibit as I thought I would be given all the hype around it, it was still fun to see the penguins and the baby penguins swimming around. The kids had a great time and enjoyed the zoo. The last time we went to the zoo in Phoenix they didn't seem to enjoy it as much as today. Though it was really windy and hot last time. Today turned out to be the perfect day. It was nice and sunny but not too hot at all.

Take my picture! She just loves to have her picture taken!
Posing with the penguin.
Surprise you are taking my picture instead of the bears!

This bear reminded me so much of Isis she will sit just like this. Too cute!

Posing in the tree!

Hayden's turn. Thank goodness for Casey and her tallness I couldn't even lift Hayden into the tree he is more than half as tall as me!

Family Photos

(These are done newest to oldest... Enjoy!)

By Monday afternoon it was nice and sunny out. While Phedora was supposed to be cleaning her room Hayden and I went over to the little park with Ayla and Chaundra. The kids had fun spinning themselves in the boat swing. I was really cute!

At least they are keeping their heads safe..LOL

Instead of cleaning her room Phedora took a 4 hour nap!

On Monday morning Dan and I went across the ferry to pick the kids up from their weekend with Nana and Grampee. It was slow going on the ferry. The fog was so thick that you couldn't see out of the ferry windows and of course there were boats out fishing as well. We took a scheduled 7:50 ferry to Kingston then got back on the same boat that we took over. Our return boat didn't leave until almost 9:10! By the time we got half way across the fog was starting to burn off. It was a long morning but the kids were really excited to see us.

On Sunday August 30th Dan and I attended my cousin Jenette's wedding at the Seattle Aquarium. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding. They were married in front of a wall sized fish tank. We had a lot of fun celebrating Jenette and Collin's wedding with them and family. It was so nice to see family members that we haven't seen in what feels like forever.

On the 21st our friends Ben and Ashley were married. They had a small private ceremony Friday afternoon just with their families at St Edwards Park in Kennmore. On Saturday they had their reception at The Monte Villa Farmhouse in Bothell. It was a nice laid back reception with friends and family. The farmhouse was beautiful!
Ready to go to the reception. She wanted ringlets but her just wasn't holding them but it still turned out really cute!

Hayden Lost His...

First Tooth! Tonight while Hayden was brushing his teeth his first loose tooth fell out. I am shocked at how quickly he lost it since he just realized it was loose on Monday. I seem to remember my own being much more stubborn! He is very proud and says he his officially a "BIG BOY"

He has decided to wait until Daddy get's home to have the tooth fairy come. He wants Daddy to see his first tooth.

Dan's Fish

Last Sunday, Dan and his Dad went out to Westport fishing on Blue Eyes. Apparently blue Eye's Captain knew where to find the fish! Within an hour or so the boat had its maximum allowance of 31 fish. These are the two that Dan caught and got to keep.

Dentist Checkup

This morning the kids and I went in to get our teeth cleaned and x-rayed. Hayden showed us his first loose tooth last night and today at the dentist we got to see 2 of his permanent teeth pushing up. His two middle teeth on the bottom are on their way up! Phedora also has the two middle teeth on the bottom moving up and one of them is loose as well. She is also getting her 6 year molars in right now! She is only 4 1/2! I was shocked when they told me and then showed me from the x-rays as well. Both of the kids did really good and waited patiently while I got my teeth cleaned as well. As a reward we are going to go get a betta tomorrow, which they have decided to name Sunday, after our old betta that passed away while we were on a trip to Ca a few years ago.

Hayden Rides A Two Wheeler!

Hayden was over playing with the neighbor kids and took it upon himself to learn how to ride a two wheeler yesterday! Our neighbor's sister watches a little boy that is Hayden's age who rides a two wheeler. So while we were out there yesterday he got on Sage's bike and started riding! When Dan got home last night he took off the training wheels on Hayden's bike and he was off! Dan and I are so thankful that he ended up not having to go to Oregon yesterday so he could be home to see it. Hayden's bike is a little bigger than Sage's so it took him a little bit to adjust to his own bike but before he knew he was off riding like a pro!

The training wheels are off lets see how it goes....

Learning how to get going on his own.

Now he has it! Look at him go!

He's so proud of himself!

One Proud Daddy!

Beach Day

This afternoon we headed out to the beach with my friend Casey and her son Howie. It was a dog friendly beach were Isis was able to run around and have a good time. We all had fun playing in the water, digging holes in the sand which turned into digging for clams, and meeting the other kids and dogs at the beach. I took my camera but between the kids and Isis I never managed to get it out. We are going to start making our beach trip a weekly thing while the weather is still so nice. It was a great beach with sand and rocks but not a lot of people. Its a bit of a walk down but well worth it. I just hope that a bunch of people dont find out about it. There was a the perfect amount of people there today!
