~Roadtrip 2011~

Our 4th and final day of driving was long to say the least.
We drove down through Minnesota and then back up to the lake.
I am not sure why the gps went the way it did but it was a scenic trip.
We finally saw our first deer after just over 1400 miles of driving.
I was expecting to see all kinds of wildlife and all we saw were cows,
sheep and a few llamas.  So it was nice to see a deer.
Duluth, Minnesota.
We are about 1 1/2 hours from Lake Superior.
Once we get over that bridge we will be in Wisconsin.
But getting there was slow going.
This sign was funny to me.
There was so much road work going on I didn't think we
were ever going to get through.  But it was such a pretty view.
The kids were happy watching their movies.
They didn't care that we were creeping along
or that I was exhausted from a full day of driving.
We only stopped for gas and potty breaks.

Lake Superior, Wisconsin
Our hotel was on the shores of Lake Superior.
There was lake access, lawn games and best of all
and indoor water park.

Checking out the lake on our first full day.
Dan had to work so we were on our own for the day.

The water was a bit chilly but the air was hot.

Not so sure she wants to go in.

Building sand castles.

Hayden's castle

Phedora and I made this one.

So happy to be playing at the beach

Laundromat

Hayden will always put on a smile.

Reading a magazine

So no one wants to do the laundry,
especially not on an 80 degree day with 80% humidity.
The laundromat was hot and the kids were troopers!

Pizza Pub
Dan ended up having to work late so the kids and I headed to the pizza pub for dinner.
The pizza was pretty darn good and the fried cheese curds were delicious.
mmm cheese curds...

I think its a deformed goldfish
but not really sure.
There were also a couple of frogs in the tank.
