For this years camping trip we decided to stay a little closer to home.
We headed up to Red Bridge campground,
its located about 30-45 minutes outside of
Granite Falls on the Mountain Loop Highway.
This campground is right on the other side of a...
red bridge... hehe
Hanging out in the tent.
Despite the looming rain we headed up and found an awesome
camp site right on the Stillaquamish River.
Pretty much as soon as we got the rain fly on and tied down
it started pouring!
My husband is a genious.
We couldn't blow up our air mattress' because it was raining
and we needed the car to use the pump.
Using 4 batteries Dan was able to make the pump work!
We blew our mattress' up and relaxed in the tent in comfort.
It downpoured for a good hour.
Bugle fingers
Nap time for the pups
The view from our campsite.
Downstream from us.
Dan trying out my new hat.
I think he kinda looks like
Walter Matthua from Gumpy Old Men.
Time for Gourmet S'mores
The perfect marshmallow
Roasting the graham cracker
melting the peanut butter cup
No pictures of the finished product though...
Poor Millie was so cold.
We turned one of Phedora's t-shirts
into a shirt for him.
He seemed to really like the shirt.
Sleeping by the fire on Saturday afternoon.
One of the many blue jays that frequented our site.
A waterfall along the Mountain Loop Highway.
Same waterfall.
We decided to drive the Mountain Loop Highway home.
We have been on both sides of the Highway but never the middle part.
We have been missing out! It was the most beautiful drive through
the forest along both the Stillaquamish and the Sauk River.
We found some great camping spots right on the Sauk River that we
are going to camp out next time we go out.
The powerful Sauk River.
Absolutely breath taking.
The water rushing down the river was so loud but
so beautiful.
