Just about every time we go to Sprouts Market Hayden begs me to get the caramel packet for caramel apples. Its 5 sheets of caramel that you wrap over the apples and then bake for a about 5 min to set. Really simple, easy and quick. So not this last weekend but the one before I finally broke down and bought the caramel for him. I told him that we could do them over the weekend. Well I am not sure where that weekend went but we didn't make the caramel apples. So Saturday afternoon I decided I would make them for dessert. The kids, especially Hayden were super excited.
Hayden enjoyed his much more than Phedora did. I think it was just a little too sticky for her. Neither one of them finished their apple but they had a good time eating the caramel. I think if I was to do it again I would slice the apples and wrap them with the caramel and use tooth pics. Then it would be like having the real thing but easier on the kiddos.
