My first project

Last week Phedora told me she would like a princess bedroom now. As we all know she loves her princess'. Last Saturday, Phedora and I went over to Joann's to pick up some fabric for a canopy and sheets for her bed. Phedora found this really pretty sheer fabric that had the Disney princess' on it in glitter. During a momentary lapse in judgement I bought 5 yards of the beautiful fabric at $10 a yard. Yikes, right!?! We were going to use the fabric to make a canopy for her bed. Well I made it out to the car were I started to really second guess myself. I did after all just get the sewing machine and this is my first project and OH MY GOD! What have I just done? Phedora and I head back into Joann's and return the beautiful fabric. I just couldn't do it. I was terrified. I didn't want to ruin it. When we got home we went on the internet and found a princess canopy for a mere $20! It has Cinderella, Belle and Aurora I believe along the top and pretty pink toole.

Saturday, Hayden and I went back to try and find some pretty princess fabric for the new sheets. I would have taken Phedora but she was napping. We ended up deciding on a solid pink lightweight fleece for the bottom sheet. For the top sheet and the pillowcase we found princess fabric! I would try to describe it but I will just show you pics of the finished product. This morning I finally finished the sheets and made up her bed. The canopy is going to be here today, so I will post pics that later in the weekend. I still need to make a few throw pillows for her. I got a darker pink fabric with crowns on it for the pillows. I also want to get her a princess comforter or blanket. Maybe I will learn how to quilt and make her one.
